Historically, tattoos have been associated with permanence. However, therapies with lasers now enable those who wish to erase their tattoos to do so. While easy to do, tattoos can be challenging to undo. The age, color and location of the tattoo can determine how successful laser removal can be and what type of laser and how many different lasers are necessary to get the job done. Evaluation of the tattoo and a thorough history can help construct a treatment plan to improve the appearance of the tattoo.
